Broadway Trip to NYC
On Saturday, September 13, 2025, Rhode to Broadway took our very first official trip to New York City and what an unforgettable day it was! Our students went to NYC to take a Broadway master class taught by Broadway actor, Nick Cooper from &Juliet, followed by our group’s first time seeing a Broadway show together (&Juliet of course!).
Student’s also had the opportunity to take vocal lessons with Broadway vocal coach, Jaron Barney, while they were in the city!
The excitement in the air from the moment we met at the train station was impossible to miss.
Traveling as a group set the tone for the day. Students buzzing with anticipation, everyone chatting and soaking in the moment, and ready for a big city adventure. For many of our performers, this was their first time training in New York City, and stepping into the studio with a Broadway professional was a thrill they won’t soon forget.
The master class pushed them, inspired them, and let them learn directly from someone living the very career they dream about. Watching their confidence lift and their artistry deepen right in front of us was one of the highlights of the entire trip.
After the master class, we had lunch and did some sight seeing in Times Square (didn’t pass up any opportunities for plenty of selfies!) before heading to the theatre for the Broadway show, &Juliet.
Seeing our students experience Broadway live, taking in every detail from the sets to the choreography to the storytelling, was incredibly special. Many walked out of the theatre already talking about new goals, new ideas, and new dreams sparked by what they had just seen.
The entire day ran smoothly, from the early-morning train ride to navigating the city as a team. Families really appreciated the convenience, the camaraderie, and the chance to enjoy the day right alongside their students.
Most of all, they loved witnessing their children become even more excited about the world of theatre.
This trip wasn’t just a day in New York, it was a defining moment for Rhode to Broadway.
It marked the beginning of a new chapter filled with hands-on experiences, professional training opportunities, and real-world inspiration. The response from students and families has made one thing very clear: this is only the beginning.
We’re already looking forward to planning our next NYC adventure, and we hope your family will be part of it.
Experiences like these build confidence, fuel passion, and create memories our students carry with them for a lifetime. If this first trip is any indication of what’s ahead, the future of Rhode to Broadway is bright—and full of amazing opportunities.
Thank you to our Associate Artistic Director and Broadway Actor, Connor Buonaccorsi, for not only chaperoning but always being a wonderful mentor to our students!
And thank you to our RTB families! Let’s continue to make more memories together!
